Plan the trip

Invite friends and plan together

Bring the right people into the trip before sharing decisions and assigning expenses.

Invite and join

  1. Open the trip’s invitation controls

Share the trip invitation with the people travelling with you. Avoid posting a private group invitation publicly.

  2. Ask each person to join

An invitation that has only been sent is not the same as an accepted membership. Check the trip’s member list.

  3. Check participants before adding costs

When you record an expense or group contribution, select the actual people involved. Not every trip member needs to share every purchase.

Keep the shared plan understandable

Use specific place names and clear expense notes. “Dinner at the market” is easier to reconcile than “food”; including the date helps when the group visits the same place more than once.

Before relying on a changed plan, make sure the others have seen it. If something looks out of date, reopen the trip and check your connection before entering the same record twice.

Why can’t I select someone?

Expense participants and group-fund contributors must be accepted trip members. First confirm they joined the correct trip with the intended account. A pending invitation or a different account can explain why the person is missing.
