How places are found in videos
What OnePlan looks for in a video, why some places are missing and how to check the result.
What OnePlan looks for
The extraction flow looks for identifiable, searchable venues in accessible source content. A venue can be mentioned in speech, subtitles or on-screen text. When available, timing and other context help associate a place with the video.
A scenic shot without a name is not enough to confidently identify a venue. The system is instructed to prefer real named places and omit generic scenery rather than invent a restaurant or attraction.
From a link to a map pin
Finding a name and resolving the right map location are separate steps. A correct name can still match the wrong branch. Review the city and address before using the result in your trip.
Why results can be incomplete
| Situation | Why it matters | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Private or removed post | The source cannot be read reliably. | Use an accessible original post, or add the place yourself. |
| Unnamed café or scenery | There may be no searchable identity. | Look for a name in the creator’s original post or comments. |
| Several branches share a name | The location match can be ambiguous. | Check the city, neighbourhood and address. |
| A fast montage or hard-to-read text | Important location details may be missed. | Compare the result with the source before saving. |
| Video shows a route but no day labels | Day and time labels should not be invented. | Arrange the saved places into your own itinerary. |
Before scanning the same link again
Check whether the issue is source access or an incorrect match. Repeating the same request may not reveal a venue that was never named. Review your scan-credit balance and any error shown before retrying.
Only submit material you are allowed to use. Avoid links containing personal or sensitive information that is not needed to identify the place.
